About this work
A synchromist composition by Arthur Bowen Davies from 1916 shows several nude figures, including standing women and a male figure with raised arms, set against overlapping planes of yellow, green, blue and brown. A reclining figure with dark hair occupies the lower foreground, and the forms dissolve into abstract color fields.
