About this work

A watercolor view of a long, multi-storey palace facade with a central glazed balcony, seen across a green parade ground. A procession of mounted riders in uniform and a gilded carriage moves along the front, while spectators line the edges of the square. The painting is inscribed with a German caption noting the imperial court's visit to the Glacis for a review on 28 October 1835, and is signed by Balthasar Wigand.
