About this work
A seated woman reads in a richly furnished interior, rendered in bold, angular brushwork with a strong geometric cube-patterned floor. A tall candlestick, stacked books and a large window with colourful panes fill the room, while framed pictures hang on the green wall behind her. The work is an oil on canvas by Georges Gaudion, dated 1924, held by the Musée du Pays rabastinois.
