A bay horse stands in a stable while a groom with rolled sleeves carries a bucket and tends to it, as a rider in a red coat and white breeches sits on a ledge at left. The straw-strewn floor, wooden rafters and hanging tack frame the scene. The work is titled 'After a Hard Ride' and was made by James Pollard in 1792.
