About this work

A small oil study shows women doing laundry in a rustic courtyard seen through a doorway, with one figure hanging cloth on a line in the bright sunlit yard. In the dim foreground another woman bends over a basin, and the warm earthy palette and loose brushwork give the scene a quiet domestic atmosphere.
