About this work
A watercolor and pencil drawing shows the hilltop town of Perugia seen from an elevated viewpoint, with dense rooftops, a city wall, and a bell tower in the foreground. Rolling hills and layered mountains recede into a hazy sky. Wilhelm Steinhausen made the work in 1872, and the inscription in the lower right names Perugia with the date.
