About this work

A tall flowering plant with pink blossoms, green and bluish-grey leaves, and clusters of round seed pods rises vertically across a pale beige sheet. The loose watercolor washes and fine pen outlines give the stems and leaves a delicate, study-like character. The work is attributed to Jan van Huysum and is catalogued under the title Rosella.
