An engraved oval portrait shows a man with a powdered wig, a buttoned period coat, and lace cuffs, set within a decorative border. A printed inscription beneath names the sitter as Joan Jakob Mauricius, Governor General of Suriname, and the print is dated 1753 with artist credits to Aert Schouman as draughtsman and P. Tanje as engraver.
