About this work

A mezzotint-style print titled The Lottery Contrast, attributed to Robert Dighton, shows Touchpenny Fortune and Winall's State Lottery Office. A finely dressed woman in a fur-trimmed cloak walks past while a ragged, hunched beggar tugs at her garment, and inside the office a nervous gentleman in a top hat clutches his head beside other anxious figures.
