About this work

A monochrome drawing of a windswept landscape shows a large tree leaning over a rocky bank beside a shallow stream, with dense foliage on the left and reeds in the foreground. The sketch is rendered in hatched graphite-like strokes, and a printed inscription reads that it was published February 1, 1796 by I. Harris at No. 28 Gerrard Street, Soho, London. The work is attributed to George Morland.
