About this work
A sunlit coastal scene shows broad, pale granite rocks in the foreground with a small green shrub growing from a crevice. Beyond them, blue water stretches toward low, rocky islands under a soft, hazy sky. The painting is signed by Elias Erdtman and dated 1889 at Strypö.
