About this work
This engraved portrait shows a bearded man with a white collar, a dark fur-trimmed cloak, and a chain across his chest, turning toward the viewer beside a draped curtain. A Latin inscription along the bottom identifies the sitter as Joannes Waverius, and the plate credits Anthony van Dyck as the painter and Marten van den Enden as publisher.
