About this work
This etched portrait shows a bearded man with a large pleated ruff collar and a buttoned doublet, turned three-quarters to the left with one hand resting on his cloak. A Latin inscription along the lower margin reads PAVLVS DE VOS PICTOR, identifying the sitter as the painter Paul de Vos, with credit to Anthony van Dyck as the draughtsman and Joannes Meyssens as publisher.
