About this work
A black and white etching shows a column of soldiers with rifles and packs marching along a road beside wagons and mounted officers. In the foreground a campfire burns beside two figures, and a hillside beyond holds a large encampment with tents and covered wagons. Edwin Forbes made this print in 1876, titled Going Into Camp at Night.
