About this work
An etching of a partially ruined colonnade of tall fluted columns supporting a broken entablature, set among scattered fallen masonry in the foreground. Trees and distant ruined walls frame the landscape under a sky with streaked clouds, and the inscription reads Rome 1845 with the signature A. Calame fils.
