About this work
An etching with hand coloring shows a man in a red coat being carried through a river on the back of a swimming horse, with a floating hat nearby. Three onlookers stand on the bank beneath pine trees, and a waterfall and a stone tower rise in the background. The print is attributed to Louis-Simon Lempereur, after a design by J.B. Oudry, and dated 1756.
