About this work
A mezzotint-style reproduction shows a half-length portrait of a man in a dark fur-trimmed coat and a soft beret, turned three-quarters toward the viewer against a dim background. The inscription at upper right reads Rembrandt f. 1659, and the lower margin carries the names Boydell and Earlom with the date 1767 and a heraldic crest.
