About this work
This hand-colored etching titled Bowling Green, by Charles Frederick William Mielatz and dated 1910, shows a street vendor in a dark hat and red neckerchief beside a crate of oranges, with a second vendor pushing a blue cart marked for sandwiches, lemonade and ice cream. Behind them a row of multi-story brick buildings lines a broad street with horse-drawn carriages, pedestrians and several flags flying from the rooftops.
