About this work
A brown horse with a dark mane and tail stands with its head lowered toward the grass in an open, green-gold field. Painted in short, dabbed brushstrokes, the scene includes a winding pale stream, distant grazing sheep, a stone wall, and low hills under a mottled pink and lavender sky. The work is titled "Ett gammalt sto" and is dated 1909 by Nils Kreuger.
