About this work

This small oil study on canvas, titled A forest glade. Study by P.C. Skovgaard, shows dense dark green trees massed on the left and receding along the right horizon beneath a pale, lightly brushed sky. The foreground is a loosely painted grassy meadow, and the quick, visible brushwork suggests a preparatory sketch made outdoors.
