About this work
A large history painting shows a crowned king in a red mantle pointing sternly at a kneeling, chained man while a queen in blue sits nearby with her hand raised. Guards and a bearded counselor frame the scene within a colonnade of marble columns, with a banquet table holding gold goblets. The work is titled König Ahasver verurteilt Haman zum Tode and is attributed to Anton Petter, dated 1835.
