About this work

This watercolor and gouache design shows a central framed scene of a red-haired woman in the foreground beside a bearded man, with another woman raising a glass of frothy beer on the right. Red paper lanterns hang below the scene, and the header lists the brands Pilsener, Ypiranga, Teutonia and Bavaria above the title lettering. Eliseu Visconti created this work in 1920 as a record of the Companhia Antarctica of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
