About this work
This pastel study shows luminous, loosely rendered female figures in pinks, yellows and greens floating above a sweeping blue and teal sea. The forms dissolve into a hazy, atmospheric surface typical of a preparatory study. Eliseu Visconti created this work in 1910 as a study for the painting panel O Progresso at the Biblioteca Nacional.
