A hazy, luminous study shows a winged central figure rising before a triumphal arch and a classical amphitheatre filled with crowds. Dancers in pale tutus and draped female figures float among clouds on the left, while a statue on a pedestal holding a lyre overlooks the scene at lower right. This 1906 work by Eliseu Visconti is a study for the stage curtain of the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro.
