About this work

This black-and-white design shows an allegorical female figure with a decorative headdress on the left, beside three male portrait heads of older men in a row. A globe bearing the word CORREIO and the words BRAZIL appears in a box at upper right, with a 200 Réis value. The text reads CARTA BILHETE and E.U. DO BRAZIL, with a blank panel below for the address. The work is a 1903 print by Eliseu Visconti, for the Carta-bilhete para o interior, a design for a postal letter-card.
