About this work

Two riders on horseback are shown in a windswept desert landscape, their flowing yellow and dark robes blown sideways by a strong gust. A dramatic, turbulent sky and a dusty plain fill the background, rendered in loose, warm brushwork. This is Le Simoon by Eugène Fromentin.
