About this work
A broad river winds through a sunlit valley of golden meadows and cultivated fields toward a village with a church tower at the foot of wooded hills. In the foreground, a rocky bank with a small white shrine and pine trees overlooks the water under a pale blue sky with scattered clouds. The work is titled By the Thaya, painted by Thomas Leitner in 1911.
