About this work

This print by Paul Gauguin shows two women in long dresses and bonnets working a field, one raking a heap of hay with a long-handled rake. The loose, sketchy lines and dark crayon-like shading give the scene a rough, direct character. The title Les Faneuses appears at the bottom, and the artist's signature is in the lower left.
