About this work

Two figures in blue headscarves and dark clothing work with long wooden rakes across a golden hayfield, one older woman in the foreground and a younger figure behind her. Small figures and a dog appear in the distance among pale trees, and the signature and date 1889 are visible at lower left. This is Paul Gauguin's Haymakers, recorded here as a print in the Wikimedia Commons collection.
