About this work

An oil painting in loose, textured brushwork shows a man in a dark jacket and light trousers seated on a wooden park bench beside a woman in a pale blouse and brown skirt, who holds a parasol or walking stick. The dense foliage and warm, dappled light of the garden surround them.
