About this work
A bird's-eye lithographic panorama of Antwerp seen from above the Flanders head, showing the dense city blocks, church towers, and fortified harbor edge. Sailing ships and small vessels fill the river in the foreground, and a hot air balloon drifts above the city. The print is attributed to François Stroobant and dated 1851, and its legend lists the position of the English fleet on the arrival of the Queen of England.
