About this work
A pencil drawing shows a riverside landscape with tall trees, a small wooden structure on stilts, and a sloping embankment leading toward a distant ridge. Handwritten notes in the lower right describe a cavalry depot at Geisboro, with disabled horses shot at the top of a slide and falling into barges below, and an instruction to turn over. The sheet is attributed to Alfred Waud and dated 1860.
