A pencil and white chalk drawing on tan paper shows five standing soldiers in military dress, several holding or carrying rifles, with handwritten captions identifying roles such as fatigue, officer and cook. The sheet bears the inscription Group of Rhode Island Soldiers and Company C. The work is attributed to Alfred Waud and dated 1861.
