About this work

A pencil sketch in profile shows a three-masted vessel with a smokestack, rigging, and a small boat on deck, rendered in light graphite lines. Handwritten annotations identify the ship as the sketch of the U.S. gunboat Union and the name Albatross, with a note to turn over.
