About this work
A pencil drawing shows the paddle steamer Adelaide on calm water, with a tall smokestack trailing smoke, rigged masts, and an American flag at the stern. A handwritten caption beneath the vessel notes that it plies between Baltimore and Fort Monroe. The work is attributed to Alfred Waud and dated 1860.
