About this work
A pencil drawing titled Minnesota, attributed to Alfred Waud and dated 1860, shows a large sailing warship with several masts and rigging anchored in a harbor. Smaller boats, a rowboat with figures, and two men working on the shore appear around it, with billowing smoke rising from the ship. A small printed vignette of the cruiser Shenandoah is mounted below the sketch.
