About this work

A dark interior scene painted mostly in deep browns and blacks, lit by the orange-red glow of a furnace opening on the left and molten metal in the foreground. A worker bends over the fire handling a glowing piece with long tongs, while another figure stands in the background near a red-lit doorway.
