A Japanese woodblock-style print shows uniformed soldiers cutting and hammering large blocks of ice around a bear-headed figure in a green coat marked with a red cross. A handwritten English caption at the top reads that the Russians retreat north to a land of snow and ice where Japanese cannot follow. The work is attributed to Kobayashi Kiyochika and dated 1904.
