About this work
A hand-colored street scene shows a corner building with a Restaurant and Candies sign, awning-shaded storefronts, and a trolley marked No. 1 at left. In the foreground a man in a light coat and cap pushes a two-wheeled cart with red wheels past passersby. The work is signed Mielatz and dated 1907, part of the twelve-print series Picturesque New York by Charles Frederick William Mielatz, published in 1908.
