A calm river scene with a dense cluster of trees and tall reeds on the right bank, a small rowboat resting on the pebbled shore, and a sky filled with billowing clouds breaking into patches of sunlight. This chromolithographic print by Alfred Thompson Bricher, dated 1887, shows the soft reflections of the trees and clouds on the water's surface.
