About this work
A hand-colored etching shows mounted hunters in blue coats and top hats riding across grassy terrain when they come upon a tigress and her cubs hidden in the tall grass at right. A dog runs in the foreground while distant hills and small buildings fade into a pale blue and green sky. The print is numbered No. 4 and was published in 1807 after designs by Williamson and Howitt, with etching by J. Clark.
