About this work

A monochrome print shows the three-masted steamer Oceanic under sail, with a funnel amidships and passengers on deck, moving through choppy water. Smaller steam vessels, a distant sailing ship and a flock of seagulls appear around it, and a caption beneath records the ship's tonnage, dimensions, and passage details. The print is credited to William Lionel Wyllie and dated 1895.
