This engraved portrait shows a man with a voluminous curled wig, a white collar band, and a dark robe, set within an oval frame. A coat of arms sits at the base of the oval, above a stone plinth bearing a Latin inscription. The lettering around the frame names the sitter and his office, and the plate credits the painter Jean-François de Troy as the source of the design, with the engraving attributed to Chevalier Edelinck.
