About this work
An engraved print shows four costumed figures dressed in leaves and fur, leading a white unicorn with a long spiral horn and a richly decorated saddle cloth. A scroll above the scene bears the Latin inscription naming the figures, and the foreground is shaded with fine parallel hatching. The sheet is from François Chauveau's 1662 series recording the Grand Carrousel.
