About this work

This anatomical drawing combines a washed hand study on the left with a pen-and-ink wrist and forearm figure on the right, each lettered with keyed references. Below the figures, two columns of handwritten Latin and English captions identify the muscles, tendons, and bony landmarks by letter. The work is attributed to Benjamin West and is catalogued as an anatomical description of the hand and wrist.
