The sheet shows two studies of cattle rendered in watercolor over pencil guidelines: a spotted cow standing in profile above, and a brown and white cow lying down facing the viewer below. Both animals sit on loose washes of green grass against a tan paper ground. This drawing by Samuel Colman is dated 1875.
