About this work
A bird's-eye view engraving of the grounds of the 1883 International Colonial and Export Trade Exhibition in Amsterdam, showing ornate entrance pavilions with flags, long exhibition halls, a central fountain, and strolling visitors among gardens and smaller buildings. The wide flat landscape and distant chimney stretch to the horizon. The print is attributed to Johan Conrad Greive, dated 1883, and carries a numbered key of the pavilions beneath the image.
