About this work
A small round miniature shows a young man in a powdered wig, wearing a dark blue coat with yellow facings, a blue sash, and a white ruffled jabot. Handwritten inscription on the left reads in Swedish that it is the original portrait painted from life, dated 1792, by Lafrensin. The work is set within an ornate gilt metal frame with a pendant loop.
