About this work

A hand-coloured print shows the British three-masted ship H.C.S. George the Fourth under full sail in choppy green water, flying the red ensign. In the foreground a native sailing boat with a large lateen sail carries passengers, while distant hills and another ship appear along the coast. The work is titled as depicting the ship captained by T.W. Barrow at the entrance of the Straits of Sunda in February 1830, attributed to Edward Duncan, dated 1830.
