About this work

A Summer's Day in Tyrol by Emil Rau shows a family in a rustic alpine farmhouse. A seated woman sews a red-and-white checked cloth while a man in a green hat smokes a pipe in the open doorway, and a boy with a walking stick stands nearby. Beyond the doorway lie green meadows, a path with hens, a small farmhouse and snow-capped mountains.
